Biblyboy HD DVD hasn't lost anything. Universal, Paramount and Dreamworks clearly stated that they will continue support for HD DVD only and admittedly they have some of the best titles being released in hidef this year not including some of the great movies in the theatres that will eventually make it to HD DVD this year also.

You factor in all those upcoming HD DVD releases with the upcoming HD DVD marketing campaign (finally) and you can be assured this "war" is far from over. If you wish it to be over that's your opinion but it certainly doesn't seem to be reality at the moment.

Do you HD DVD supporters seriously think HD DVD has a chance?

You remember 2007 right? Where Blu-ray won EVERY week.

Blu-ray now has 75% of the EXCLUSIVE studios backing them. Blu-ray sales have outright crushed HD DVD so far in 2008.

Do you really think anyone in their right mind will recommend a player that only has 2 studios supporting it? Why do you think the Circuit City and Walmart stores are phasing out HD DVD? Could it be because it's not selling anymore?

It's just simple logic, don't be angry, just be rational ... if you truly want Hi Def to thrive then you will support Blu-ray ... all Toshiba is doing at this point is hurting Hi Def.

funstuff, bibly, you may be fine with having your choice dictated to you, but im not.....your both clearly forgetting that this whole thing has been dirty right from the word go, with the bda being the biggest source of fud and hypocrisy since the whole inception.

BDA has bought the market plain and simple, but like so many others, im NOT convinced about blu ray being superior in anyway.
Doesnt matter where you look, theres always delays and problems with about to be launched bd players, samsungs new one has problems already, and thats caused by the blu side, and this is your version of superior?
HD DVD has worked right from day one, the worst of it being a few firmware updates, not a cause for calling it inferior at all.
You maybe into paying thru the nose for overpriced half finished products but im not, warners announcement is a dissapointment, but i will not be going blu full stop, I chose hd dvd because its affordable, does what it says on the tin, and quiet frankly gives a fantastic performance to cost value which blu ray just doesnt do.

im sticking with hd dvd, especial if the rumours of TL51 discs are true, then blu has absolutely no technical benefit whatsoever, let alone the amount of very pissed of punters who have spent so much for a player that cant even access the special features available..
if hd dvd does die off then ill be sticking with satellite and my collection of hd and sd discs, ive absolutely no intention of buying blu at any stage in the future, its not the format of choice at all, more the format of propaganda and bs.....

WTF? NPD doesn't count sales from Amazon? Can anyone explain why not?

If I knew about this ahead of time then I would've bought my A3 and A35 directly from BB or CC.

What an incredible coincidence that they don't include Amazon.com sales when HD DVD players have been the best sellers on that site for a few months now.

Well, the ONLY "count" you need to worry yourself about is the STUDIO COUNT - those that SUPPORT a format with CONTENT.

It's not looking good for HD-DVD when most of 'em support their competition, Blu-ray.
