Does anyone remember last year's HD-DVD commercial during the Super Bowl? If I remember correctly, the whole commercial was letterboxed! I hate when an ad is supposed to be in high-def and then they go and put black bars all around! Hopefully we get a decent ad this year.

LOL - HD DVD paying $3 million to FOX (Blu-ray) for 30 seconds.

HAHA - I love it!

Yeah. Ironic isn't it. Kinda like how Toshiba recently purchased production of the cell chip which powers the ps3. Here's a link for you since you love posting links so much

This is really ironic because now Toshiba can take the revenue made from every ps3 sold and use that money to prolong the format war as long as they want. Even if they decide to drop hddvd they still win because of their ownership in production of the cell chip. Irony is a b**** isn't it? Now go away.

That is too funny. Makes me wonder, how long Sony can keep it up. They must be looking for another manufacturer to produce those chips. Toshiba should be capitalizing on this misforture.

On a side note... I just saw my first HD-DVD ad in Canada. It was pretty good, the ad was with the gingerbread man.

Enough with these ridiculous commercials from HDDVD. Now they have the Ginger Bread Man (Shrek movies) instead of Donkey? Same guy in the office theme. If this is their New Marketing Strategy stop with the waisted air time and give it up. Oh Boy, I can't wait for the Super Bowl.

Honestly... If I could make an HD-DVD Commercial I would include clips from films such as

The Bourne Trilogy
Serenity
Dune
Transformers
The Big Lebowski
Fear And Loathing IN Las Vegas
King Kong *even though I hated it*
Shrek 3 *For the parents*
Chronicles Of Riddick
Frighteners
Darkman
Aeon Flux

You know... stuff that might actually pull some people in... some other action flicks too. But... alas... I am stuck here... with nothing to do about it.

Either way... I'm stuck with HD-DVD until the violent bloody end.

Reaggie,

As far as I know the Cell is co developed by IBM, Toshiba and Sony but I would bet that IBM would have the larger production capacity (although probably tied up with the Microsoft and Nintendo Processors) but Sony is probably making some of the Cells themself.

Blu-Ray fan boys trying to say its a bad idea to advertise at the Super Bowl .....LMFAO.....It shows how desperate they are at trying to spin any positive HD DVD news.

Note to fanboys - you do not have to reply to evey single posts. Pull yourself away from your game machine....Errrr.....I mean Blu-Ray player and do some research before you post.

Now if you all excuse me, I need to check on the status of my recent movie order at Amazon.

Note to HD-DVD "only" fanboys like cmpltvertigo...

-Are these threads (& message board) to be used for preaching to the choir - or just the HD-DVD "only" folks?

-Don't you want to hear constructive criticism, especially from the "other" side, the BLU-side?

-Should the Blu-ray "only" owners get their own 'private' thread to voice their opinions?

-What about dual-format owner/supporters, such as myself? Can we post opinions on both sides (with pros and cons).

IF you are chuckling by now...well, that's how I feel about your missive above.
