Actually LH I am chuckling right now, but its a good kind of chuckle.
I like to think I'm open minded and willing to entertain other's ideas, and beliefs. I'm pretty receptive to what I see and read as long as its factual and non-partisan.
That being said, I do have preferences based on personal experience and can see how that plays a role in my own loyalties.
I'm not crazy about fanboyism, but am eager to hear what others with tintless glasses have to say.

-Are these threads (& message board) to be used for preaching to the choir - or just the HD-DVD "only" folks?
-Don't you want to hear constructive criticism, especially from the "other" side, the BLU-side?
-Should the Blu-ray "only" owners get their own 'private' thread to voice their opinions?
-What about dual-format owner/supporters, such as myself? Can we post opinions on both sides (with pros and cons).
Actually Hendrix I enjoy your posts and look forward to reading them. While I may not always agree with them your comments are intelligent and add genuine discussion to the forum. Biblyboy/funstuff/bubblebathgirl, on-the-other-hand, just continues to posts negative messages linked to rumors from various sites all directed at insulting anyone who enjoys the hd dvd format. I have no problem with someone commenting on what products they decide to spend their hard-earned money on. Just don't insult and continue to bash those whose choice is not your own (looking at you biblyboy).

They planned the ad long before WBs decision. Once that came about, how could you expect them to cough up Super Bowl bucks for an ad. I think we'll be hearing news from Paramount and Universal in the not too distant future as well.

So did they cough up the 2.7 million, or not?

I highly doubt it.

So i watched the ad on engadget.com, and wow. That wasn't worth 2.7 million, or even the price of a Toshiba HD DVD player. I was really hoping that they would have just went nuts with action movies, lots of explosions, and something else than Shrek. huh. Supposedly the ad was aired right after the halftime show, and wasn’t even in hi-def? I don't recall.

HAHAHA oh man, HDDVD is really grasping at straws here, I mean all they have left is freakin SHREK hehehe. I mean they shoulda used Bumblebee or someone from Transformers or something else, but NO let's use Gingerbread man, oh man, this is priceless. The war is over.
Maybe if they would have gone with the color green, things woulda been different!! Seriously the reason I buy mostly Blu ray is because of the pretty cases they come in, and I am serious. My wife likes them better than the HDDVD cases.

I must have missed the ad since I tuned out the halftime show. If what you guys are saying is true, then they letterboxed a commercial about an HD Movie format two years in a row. What a waste of money.

I think the price they paid is the going price for ANY 30 second ad that is shown during the Super Bowl.
