Freddy Krueger is getting a wakeup call.
Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form have been set by New Line to relaunch the movie series centered on the iconic killer, who haunts the dreams of teenagers and kills them in their sleep.
Deal comes as Bay, Fuller and Form ready an early May start for “Friday the 13th,” New Line’s relaunch of another iconic baddie, Jason Voorhees. Marcus Nispel will direct from a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (“Freddy vs. Jason”).
Both franchises will be given a complete overhaul, just as Platinum Dunes did with the Nispel-directed “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” New Line won’t hire a writer on “Nightmare” until the writers strike ends.

I just got the image of a 360 degree slow mo crane shot. With Freddy and Jason. Freddy answers the phone.
"This sh*t just got real."

Hey in the Fall I posted a thread about Jason Vorhees. He is going to appear on Supernatural. It should be soon due to the fact that Supernatural has only 4 more episodes. That is due to the writers strike.

Wonder how they'll do that? My girlfriend loves this show... I find it slightly boring though. I would be interested in watching this episode though.

More proof that Hollywood is grasping at straws. Let the old talent go, get some fresh people and ideas in there. What's next, a "Leave It To Beaver" revival? Maybe "Buck Rogers" with Gary Coleman as "Twinky"?

But Jason wasn't even the killer in the first movie. Way to go Michael Bay for completely changing the whole story.

Boring? It's one of the best shows on TV! It's like the X-Files, without all the unnecessary alien crap that was overdone way too much and never even resolved. Most of the shows have twists that you never even see coming.

I loved X-Files. But I lost interest in Supernatural in season 1, when one of the villains was 'hook man.' Have only since watched one episode of season 3 and just couldn't get into it.
