I'm surprised they still use Warner Bros clips such as 300 and Batman Begins. Will they make a new intro for the site in June? This intro really would have been better as a commercial suited for Super Bowl 42. Too bad.

This commercial would have been excellent for the Superbowl especially if it had gone nationwide.

who is in charge of toshibas tv ad's? Is there an email for customers to express their views and potentially give ideas. I agree with everyone here, they should have used the new intro as the super bowl add. The one they chose was weak, and I don't know who are the decision makers for the add, but they should be terminated. As I keep saying they need to market the fact that HD-DVD has all the upgrading/firmware hardware equiped in every player (does blu ray other than the PS3?). The average consumber needs to know of the COMBO HD & DVD's toshibas offers. Toshiba's marketing group are not getting it done and they need to hear about it.

Toshiba has done an extremely poor job in promoting the product, right from the begining. There ads were so poor, and Toshibas own products page for the HDDVD products was so poor. I think Toshiba was hoping the word "HD" will sell the product on its own. Its too late now. Sony did a great job in promoting BluRay, and they are still doing it. I see the BluRay ad at least afew times in Discovery HD channel every day. I dont remember when I saw the HDDVD commercial the last time. I was supporting only HDDVD. But went neutal recently after Warner jumped ship. I am neutral (XA2 + BD30).

Question on the BD 30. After talking with a friend the other day, he was saying that after a few movies, the remote looses sync or funtionality? He said he has to reboot the drive to get it to work again? Any truth to that...?

This so would make a terrific commercial. In fact, they can layer it on a tad more, then it would have a huge outreach. (fingers crossed this will happen)

I agree with everyone here that this new intro they used should have been the AD they used for the Super Bowl. It would've done probably so much more for them then what they put up.

To me the infamous superbowl ad focused more on the youngsters watching football. They should have adapted something like in the WII commercials, "We Want to Play" our HD-DVD's anywhere we want. Maybe with another guy wanting to play that same disc but in bluray format and having a hard time to find someone else with the bluray player. What a missed opportunity. I think this is it for the Toshiba camp. I don't think they are going to spend that kind of money on another ad. i am so pissed off.

This type of commercial should've been aired for the entire year of 07'. Maybe they got their ads mixed up.

I am an HD DVD fan, but what the hell was Toshiba thinking. I agree with all of you who said that they should have run this spot during the super bowl. I guess the Patriots were'nt the only ones who lost on Sunday.

I'm a die hard HD-DVD supporter but I concur that this ad definitely should've been the ad for the Superbowl as there definitely was more effort put into it and it just plain looks cool and definitely goes better for wow factor. Then again there is the possibility that they might be using this for future TV ads if so then I can live with it.

Considering this ad did not show in all market places, I know it didn't in mine, it seems to be a less than stellar effort to get people interested in the HD DVD format.
Also, given the fact that the website is seriously lacking in appeal...would it hurt to give a synopsis of the movies in the movie listing?
