The problem is that the more consumers think that way, the more studios will feel compelled to offer those kind of "silky-smooth" DNR'ed transfers, then EE them after to add a bit of fake "depth". Perhaps consumer education would help (as in the wide screen versus full screen DVD debate), but I find more and more people actually prefer the smooth look of a grain-free image, even if a certain amount of detail and depth is lost in the removal process. Oh well, at least a grain-free image is a heck of a lot easier to compress.
Heh... actually Skyhawk, I was crying over the fact that it actually -isn't- coming to HD-DVD.
