already pre-ordered the HD DVD version. Can't wait to see the Alternate theatrical version of the film with a "controversial" ending.

I guess this is the first Warner movie where the bd version has better stuff on it. I was going to buy this on hd dvd due to the combo format but since it is missing the extra's the blu version is getting I will pass. Warner has always given better sound and extras to hd dvd titles but I guess they have to do this since they are going blu exclusive. I don't own a blu player yet but will probably pick this up at later time after blu becomes cheaper.

According to the back covers, the BD version has a documentary that the HD DVD doesn't, and the HD DVD has Web-enabled downloads the BD version doesn't. I just wish these discs came with no extras at all. It would make my job a lot easier, and I never, ever, watch the extras again, anyway. To me, they are simply marketing devices to get people to buy something and have practically no other value.

(Dang, what a grump!)

Actually, I totally agree. I still have DVDs that I've never watched the extras (extended editions of LOTR, for example). Personally, it wouldn't bother me if all critics here left out that part of the reivew or just make a simple bulleted list of the extras. I especially think it's unfair for a critic to have to watch extras for a movie they didn't quite enjoy.

But John, you would surely want to see these "extras" again - deleted scenes, alternate ending/beginning, director/star introduction,... or the occasional Music Video?

"Music Video" --Love Hendrix!

Only if it's one of Disney's music videos performed by one of their Disney Channel teen stars.

I like those music videos on the 3 Austin Powers DVDs, and the "Start the Commotion" video on the Ben Stiller classic ZOOLANDER. And many others of course.

So WB is finally getting their cues from the Sony marketing dept. Lets see how we can screw the consumer away from HD DVD by adding to the blu-ray version content, and i guarantee it's nothing to do with the capacity of the disc as the HD DVD version has 2 f**king sides. More than enough room. Oh to the blu, by saying f**k you Blu and WB. I won't buy it on either at this point. WB doesn't deserve movie goers money as they just pocketed $500 mil anyways.
