McCain was a POW if I remember correctly.

But I think McCain would be the best choice.
Hell, McCain was a Severely Tortured by the Viet Cong POW, an American Hero, seriously worthy of consideration.
What other candidates have that factor going for them???
I would love to see the best of GOP candidates in the running, nominee McCain, and VP Dr. Ron Paul

But, overall, still undecided.
Enough of this here for me, I have said my word in the "Everything Else" category.
See ya'll back on the HD DVD/Blu Ray threads.

Tim, you are so right, GOBS OF FILMS have direct and indirect political overtones, not just classics like All the President's Men. And I also like those political documentary films, whether true-life or not (Michael Moore propaganda - funny but most full of biased untruths)... although I hear SICKO is supposed to be more balanced (I'm going to rent it).
well, the one thing I can say about SICKO is it does bring up points that concern us all, whether you're democrate or republican. What I see is how our current health care effects my parents. Medicare and social security are not enough, especially hundreds of dollars every month on a fixed income is very sick, and you'll see what I mean when you watch the movie. Unlike moores other films, this one hits a nerve that all of us can relate with. In fact, you'll probably walk away pissed as hell about our current system, I know I am!
The one thing I can say about our current candidates is they know they have to tackle the health care issue. If they can at least do a couple things to get changes made it will make me happy enough. Like Shrek said, "That'll do donkey . . . that'll do".

Oh please, by all means, go back to your bazillion broken record threads over the pointless format war. I mean really, HD and Blu are such a huge issue that affect my way of life and such a current world problem that it deserves so much freaking attention!

Eddie, I voted for Bush twice because I felt neither of his opponents were the best person for the office. However, I've been very disappointed in the broken promises Bush and other Republicans/Democrats have made about 'balancing' the budget, or controlling spending. Both sides are guilty, you know. That's why I wish Ron Paul could become president, but it's not going to happen.

Hmmm...Sicko made me laugh...that show was so full of misinformation it wasn't funny. I especially like how Moore made Canada out as some kind of shining beacon for public health care. Speaking as a resident of the Great White North I can tell you that the health care system up here while 'free' (forget about our sky high tax rates for a sec) is crumbling before our eyes.
Try waiting 6 months for a CAT scan or some other kind of 'minor' surgery....and you can forget about trying to find a family doctor....get on the waiting list....ahhhh free health care.
