hoodaguy, why is upconversion such an important argument when you already have an HDDVD player that does this any way?

I believe to hoodaguy a high definition image = upconverted DVD. So he is actually right in keeping his HD DVD player for the foreseeable future, since in a few months that's all that he'll be doing with that player. Upconverting DVD's.

And what do you think you will be using your ps3 for once it breaks down from being used for more tasks than it was originally designed for? At least the hd player will still play movies. And don't forget Sony's wonderful track record on playstation customer service (see also - Sony's denial of ps2 disc read error and Sony BMG CEO's mockery of consumers regarding music drm). Its o.k. though. Toshiba will still get paid since you'll have to buy a new ps3 or pay to get your old one replaced. Guess who is in charge of all of those cell processor chips that will be needed for your new ps3? Yeah. its Toshiba. Taunting other people is really silly since everything comes back around eventually.

I'm not gonna get into it with you chemteam, because there is usually no use reasoning with HD DVD fans. You think you're right, I know I'm right, but in the end there will be no right or wrong. There will just be one format and that will be the end of the discussion. I wasn't trying to taunt hoodaguy, I was just really trying to find out what was up with that whole upconverting deal. Is that like his biggest pet peeve with Blu-ray, or what?

Anyway, it's funny how when I say something critical of HD DVD, I'm taunting someone, but when you all say negative things about Blu-ray (Blu-ray fans) or mostly about Sony in general then it's just normal conversation. It's you the HD DVD fans that are not able to discuss things in a civilized manner. When a debate gets heated you all resort to name calling. Well, that's part of the reason why your beloved format will eventually fail.

It amazes me to see what a safe haven for Sony haters this place has become. OR maybe it was always this way, who knows. But at least we now know what the driving force behind all the FUD spread all over the web about Blu-ray is coming from. Keep ranting J, I know you boys here will back you up no matter what. You guys are nothing if not loyal, that's for sure. At least when it comes to uniting for a great cause, such as bashing one of the most innovative CE companies in the world. Good for you.

BTW, I'm no "Mr. Knowitall" and I'm not here to incite any riots either. I'm just here to stand up for something you all condemned from the beginning of this so-called format war: Blu-ray. And judging by your angry remarks, I must have hit a nerve somewhere already. That's good.
