I really don't see how this effect movie sales since they don't have much of a selection and their prices are'nt even competetive. Now that they have gone blu ray they might invest alittle more as far more titles. I went into Wal*mart 2 weeks ago and asked for their Blu ray section because I wanted the RAT movie. They had it on SDVD but not Blu ray.

I went into the Super Duper West Sacramento Wal Mart yesterday and they only have four Blu-rays and they keep them there at the check out in the electronics department - why, I have know idea. The new Jodi Foster one was one of them.

The Wal mart here in New Orleans, has ALMOST as many BR titles as best buy or CC, but as far as HDDVD, according to my wife, 2 nights ago, they had only 4 titles, and they were at the bottom of the BR section.

whoaaa, little buckaroos. I am an HD owner and supporter but when you have America's largets retailer saying they will stop carrying HD movies, regardless if they stock only 5 or 10 is huge. It comes down to the undecided consumer hearing this and this influences SD only buyers as to their choice. And 1 hour ago I read an article online where Toshiba is halting their HD production to figure out what they are going to do.
As for the gun post, that was cute. A little too emo, but cute.

I cannot believe how much this news is being discounted on this board.
Love it or hate it, Wal-Mart, is by far the number one retailer in America. In fact according to fortune magazine: 1 out of 10 retail dollars spent in America is spent in a Wal-Mart. That is huge.
Enthusiasts may not shop at Wally world but, Mom and Pop sure do. So as far as market saturation this move is huge.
