I've learned to disregard the statements in his posts
How do you know this isn't a girl?
Funny people no, I'm not a girl. I'm just "mature enough" (for lack of a better term) to know not to take at face value everything is said and done by mayor corporations and the government. I get aggravated when companies claim to make decisions based "on what the consumer wants" or for the well being of the people.
If Sony, and the studios really did things based on what we want as consumers, they would've never had this format war in the first place and would've reached an aggrement on coming out with a joint venture. There was, and I'm sure still is, an investigation by the U.S. Deparment of Justice and the European Commission proving allegations that Sony, and some BD backers tried to impose their BD format on the DVD Forum Group and attempted to boycott Toshiba, via veto power, in an attempt to prevent Toshiba from developing HD-DVD and presenting it to the DVD Group for adoption as the next gen format. The U.S Justice Department went as far as obtaining all communication records between the movie studios and Sony and Toshiba to see the real reasons why the studios picked either format over the other. And that is not FUD, is a fact.
I really hope that when BD "officialy" wins, that they fix all the issues and that Sony doesn't take advantage of the situation by imposing high prices or poor products on the consumer that helped then win the HD war. I love high definition and just because MY beloved HD-DVD lost it doesn't mean that I'm not ever going to buy BD. If it becomes the standard then I'll go blu 100%. Shoot! show me a profile 2.0 player for $150 or less and I'm there! lol I just hope that they still manufacture at least HD-DVD/BD combo players for a while so all of us who have HD-DVD to be able to enjoy them for years to come.

How muh $ did they spend during that Super Bowl add? Did they not just update the HD DVD web site? Why would they just throw money away like that?

LH, you're no saint either?
Everyone that visits these forums feel confident in their choices. All, I was stating that sometimes, the BR guys don't play fair, so some of us are forced to say things that intimidate the opposing format. No, one in their right mind like to loose... Anywho, I'm not investing money on any format for the next month, part of my contract... Things are just heating up!!!

Lee Harvey Oswald, didn't you know that? lol. The anti-trust investigation was/is not a political conspiracy theory, was/is based on real facts the government found peculiar. You should know that.

Of course is all about money! But the point of the anti-trust inquiry was to investigate claims of Sony not giving Toshiba a fair chance to develop and present the format to the DVD Group board when Sony got a fair chance by the members to develope and present BD to the DVD Group. Also the anti-trust investigation was looking into why some studios had decided to go Blu-ray exclusive, I guess Universal wasn't HD-DVD exclusive at the time, who knows.
