Are you suggesting that movies are to blame for America's violence because some homicidal psycho that stopped taking his medication had an obsession with horror movies? Good thing the guy wasn't into watching opera, cause knowing the fanatical right-wing nutters, they would put that on the ban list too! Why cant they just stick to ol'fashioned book burnings?

I didn't suggest anything. I merely diappointed at what some people find entertaining. That is all. mere personal opinion. What you watch reflects how you think. That is all. Not trying to start any fights here, just posting a story...

Wait a minute

What about all of those Left-Wing nutters that want to invade the private sanctity of my home and confiscate my Assault Rifle collection????

Throw me in jail for doing nothing more than possessing a legally owned object, that they subsequently passed a law to ban.

Let's re-write the US Constitution with NO grandfather clauses.

I watch violent movies all the time and I haven't killed anyone, why do they always blame violent movies.

99% of the Shrinks out there can probably spot the bad apples as early as age 10, but they never act to stop them until they go off the deep end and start killing people later in life.

It's not Left and Right nutters that we need to worry about, they need to spot and remove the rotten eggs from the dozen before they spoil the whole carton.

I think I'll go back to watching A Clockwork Orange and Full Metal Jacket now.

Kubrick was a genius you know....

Of course you suggested something by posting that link. It wasn't the RottenTomatoes link to the Saw movie - but something about a crazed real life killer. Obviously you were attempting to suggest some sort of "link". Doh!

I enjoyed the original Saw movie (not the sequels since after the original the idea was "all used up", but you did not enjoy it. Big deal. But attempting to make like movies you don't enjoy are the work of the devil and contribute to mass murder is darn right silly IMO. When the hell are people going to take responsibility for their own actions and societal condition, rather than blame some book or movie. Oh I know why. It's called expediency.

Good point, there are extreme nutters on both sides of the coin. Those that blame movies, books, and lack of religious schooling on the high level of violence, and those that blame guns. Heck, I earned my right here in Canada long ago to own guns and go hunting. Besides, it's one of the only excuses I have every fall to leave the wife for a few days and do "guy stuff"!

BTW, it's one aspect that I found interesting about Michael Moore's "Bowling for Columbine". As inaccurate and silly parts of it were, it was the main thing that Moore uncovered himself that contradicted much of the other material in his movie: "That guns weren't to blame". So by the end, I wasn't certain what the freakin' movie's point was!

Well by titling the thread "SAW?" and then opening with this line:
Quote:
He's something to be proud of SAW fans...

And then posting a link to an article about a homicide incident.

Why would fans of a movie be proud of a mentally ill person who was off mediation killing people?

I'm sorry, but that's low and obvious to the point that anyone else would have to be mentally disabled not to see that. Go back to your book burning and leave our freakin' movies alone! (Just stay away from my books though too).

Bible versions and creationist books don't count.
