I had this problem too. I bought a new router which works but I haven't tested downloading the new firmware because I already upgraded via a CD burn. Oh well.

well i figured out what was wrong wit the ps3 wifi. Turns out it was a router problem. If anyone else has this problem there is a setting on ur wireless router called upnp. all u have to do is go into the routers settings and turn it off. that easy.

Scionguy,

Sorry I didn't follow up with you faster..This router is a PITA..

The good thing was, as I had the problem(s) taken care of before I had my PS3. But I first started noticing it when I had connected a Netgear 802 b wireless adapter ...Then the problems started to resurface when I brought my Wii home.

Eventually turning off UPNP, changing the radio channel (to the higher mhz/ghz range) and a few other options...if you found your issue then I won't dig for the links that I had. I've been happy with most Linksys (cisco) products in the past, but this version of the router had me pretty upset for a while.

I'm not having problems with it lately, but I think I will eventually move to a different brand.

Anyways, glad you got it worked out.

Uni

BTW: UPNP = Universal Plug and Play. Supposed to be an easy way of configuring your wireless devices (no manual entry of anything).

Only problem now is that Blue Ray is the only remaining HD in the market. Sony will F*** everyone over by raising prices, and making cheap players like there PS3 that cost more then a standard DVD player. Which everyone complains about at sony forum stating there having problems with the blue ray player on there PS3. So it might be over, but in return the consumer gets screwed harder. I am staying away from Blue Ray for awhile too see what happens.

robert256,

I fail to see how your post has any relevance to this thread. I suggest joining the forums at bluray.com or better yet, perhaps spread your banter on amazon.com.

I'm sorry to hear that you feel Sony is going to screw you. But don't take a thread that has a legitimate issue with the potential in aiding other individuals in their enjoyment of movies and tarnish it with your selfish thoughts.
