Since HD-DVD players use blue lasers too, how could Blu-Ray Disc be the name for Sony's trojan horse? We all know that the official successor to DVD is HD DVD according to the DVD Forum and HD DVD Consortium. Nobody knows what the heck BD or BDA or Blu-ray is... they should've went with BluE-ray so as not to confuse.

Give it up already. Saying "nobody knows what blu-Ray is" doesn't make any sense at all anymore since they've won the war.

This is like having 5 or 6 reporters covering the same story for the same magazine. Each writing their own article.

Like it or not, many people out there have no idea what Blu Ray and HD DVD are. 1% of the market is nothing.

I'm going to guess that more than 1% of North Americans know what Blu-ray and HD DVD is.

Obviously, but everyday when I talk to someone new that has no idea what they are or the differences it shows that maybe only the interent savvy are up to date on all this tech.

And the people who have visited Walmart or Best Buy have likely also seen the technology (or heard of it there), but no doubt there are many people just not interested right now - just as many of my friends weren't interested in DVD even after I had owned standard DVD for 3 years into the format's life. They all have DVD players now though.

Apparently, you are the only one that's confused.
