This is right before they jumped ship. Consumers lose when there is no competition or choice

A bump in Netflix Blu-ray rental prices could be in the DVD rental company's future if the format war with HD DVD comes to an end. This is according to recent comments from Netflix CFO Barry McCarthy.
The comments, picked up by Home Media Magazine, indicate Netflix would consider raising rates on Blu-ray or HD DVD. This would depend on who is remaining standing once the dust settles.
"If a winner emerges in that format war and a large percentage of the subscriber base rents HD DVD or Blu-ray … then we will weigh options for increasing the price,' he said. 'First someone needs to emerge as the winner."
Netflix is in the camp of believing Blu-ray probably has the edge, according to other recently published comments.

Check out the date on that post. February 7. Meaning this "news" has been around for nearly 2 weeks.
As I said then, how does Netflix charge more for hi def rentals? Based on what's in the queue? Based on what gets shipped to subscribers? Is it going to be $1 more per rental, $2? As far as I know, there has been no plan made public on the details...if this is going to come true.
And if there is a price increase for hi def rentals, SWITCH BACK TO THE REGULAR DVD'S. Heading this off at the pass isn't that hard.

My gas bill is up this month! I blame Blu-Ray! And don't get me started on my property taxes!

I blame Blu-Ray for global warming. I think that Blue laser is heating up our atmosphere.

If anyone followed the news from late 07' they would've known that this was going to happen anyway no matter who won. They were going to raise rental fees because the USPS was complaing about having a hard time processing rental returns because of the envelope size. The USPS was planning on charging more money to process, therefore NetFLIX was going to pass the charge along to you.

We actually already had a thread about this. I'm too lazy to dig it up but the post office can't process the Netflix envelopes through the automatic sorting machine. They have to do it by hand which is time consuming.

I like game fly envelopes they don't have the flappy part but of course they don't have the red side either so when people see you carring your mail they know your better than them since you have net flix and they don't
