I have to hand it to Sony on their marketing techniques.

I thought when they borrowed $800 Million dollars for the Japanese government to push the BluRay media and Playstation 3, was an absolutely terrible move to make.

BUT, they have shown us that if you market your product properly, you can convince anyone to buy sand in the desert.

WE ALL KNOW INCLUDING SONY THEMSELVES WHO ADMITED LAST WEEK BLURAY IS INFERIOR TO HD DVD, but BluRay still won the format war. WHY? Sony had more money to market their product. Bottom line. There is no other reason BluRay won.

Here's the sad thing. Just as HDDVD has stopped production, the quality of BluRay's has seized as well. They will never reach the quality of HDDVD's because there is no competition now. Nothing to pressure them to lower prices or bring the quality of their product in to the realm of HDDVD or beyond.

Great marketing Sony! This victory will be studied in marketing classes for decades.

Lesson learned? Advertise more and you will win. Bottom line.

Sony did what they set out to do: eliminate consumer choice. Now Blu-Ray is all you have in the HiDef DVD market. Now, bend over and prepare for the butt-raping of your life!

Please, no need for your witty retorts, Blu Fanboys, as you can't rape the willing.

And a note about fanboyism... Fanboys know who they are, so does everyone else. Regular non-fanboys know who they are, so does everyone else.

Hey you all know me, yes I am an HD DVD supporter, but like my Dad always said " if you have no control over the situation, LET IT GO."
The war is over we must move on plain and simple.

Exactly, no competition means....

There are several sore loosers in this thread.

SONY makes great technology, be it LCD, OLED, Blu-ray, PS3, etc.

Blu-ray is technically better than HD-DVD, and has greater potential and is more future proof. HDi is the only thing HD-DVD has going for it (MS did a good job here), and all that HDi is today Java-BD will be soon enough.

Move on, HD-DVD is dead and burried. Blu-ray is the way to go, if you can't admit that Blu-ray will give you as good a movie experience as an HD-DVD movie then you have a problem.

Consumers chose Blu-ray, join the party, go Blu )
