Now that there is a single format you will see an acceleration in the widespread transition to Blu-ray. Prices will fall for both players and media. The PS3 will have a tremendous year. Microsoft will be force to create a Blu-ray add-on for their 360 or watch it fall further behind the PS3 in 2008.

we've only seen one month of sales numbers with the ps3 in 2008. i think they will see a small spike in sales but not a huge one over all. The ps3 needs to start getting exclusive games happening. as for the add on i think it could happen, but then microsoft is gonna have to pay Sony for the rights and such for the blu ray. i don't think they really want that over there head. i wouldn't be surpirsed to see xbox team with netflix. we'll hopefully find out at GDC this week!!

PS3 is already selling at a faster pace overall then the 360 RROD box has.

With Blu-ray winning the PS3 is gonna own. The only chance M$ has is to make a Blu-ray add-on ASAP.

Otherwise they're done.

PS3 already has better exclusives then the 360, and the horsepower to boot.

Toshiba needs to take note. They should immediately embrace Blu-ray and announce plans to come out with their own line of Blu-ray players. Not only will this make them oodles of money, but it will help make happy again all of the crying HD DVD fans who refuse to buy anything from Sony.

Why would the hd dvd suppporters be happy about having to spend $400 to $500 for a new player to watch the same movies with the exact same hd transfer? And there is no certainty that having one high def format will speed up adoption for hd discs. Right now people are not really focused on hd movies and I can tell you from personal experience talking to average joe consumers at retail that they really can't tell much of a difference between sd and hd movies or they just don't care. Thats why 90% of all movie sales are still dvds. And as far as the ps3 beating out the 360, there going to have to start selling more games for that to happen. It could happen but I doubt that it will this year. Microsoft is already rumored to be in talks to buy Epic Games Studios which would lock up several key million-seller franchise titles just for the 360. The ps3 as a games machine will continue to be 3rd place until their owners start buying more games. And until they begin to get exclusive games (or exclusive gaming experiences like the wii) that are not already available on other systems its not going to make much of a difference in gaming sales.

Scratch what I said. I just read your previous post. You're obviously a shill for Sony and not very objective at all so it doesn't matter if I post any comments regarding what you say. Nevermind.

I just gotta know what the ps3 has over the xbox in the category of exclusives that are big sellers?
The biggest sellers on the ps3 are cross platform. We can argue opinions about uncharted being better than gears of war. or halo 3 over resistance, but when you look at the actual sales numbers that you love to quote, the facts are the ps3 has yet to really push the games out.

I also would love to know how you think PS3 has more "exclusives" than the XBOX 360 and I would love to see this list. Talk about fantasy land.

Proportionately to the number of consoles they have out, yes the PS3 has actually "pushed" the games out.

Motorstorm is by far the best off road racing game ever made. It is a PS3 exclusive, and always will be.

Motorstorm 2 is in development and scheduled for release these year.

As the PS3 overtakes the 360 in total sales you will see the game sales numbers doing the same.

You can say what you want about HD DVD, but the 360 is killer that pice of crap PS3. I am planning on buying one as a blu-ray player. But that doesn't help them sell games. Wouldn't a video game system with no one playing games on it be a failure? I mean isn't that what it is made for? There is what like 3 good exclusive games? I think 2 aren't even out yet. Scott Baio you are living a dream to think that is a good game system. Good movie system though.

Oh yeah the new twisted metal game got me excited about the ps3 but turns out that will only be for the ps2.

Hello mr. Playstation fanboy. Why do you have nothing else to do other than argue about video game consoles in the most trivial manner possible?
