I have about 60 SD-DVD's I am trying to get rid of, that I have on eBay at the moment. 1. lot of 54 and 6 other discs split into 3 other auctions. I am curious has anyone taken movies to FYE and traded them, and if so what have you got per disc. I was thinking of maybe canceling the auction and maybe taking them down to the store to get rid of them and use the trade-in cash for other HD movies, whether Blu or HD.

So has anyone used FYE's trade and what should I expect per disc?

I've done it. It varies from disk to disk. You'll get 2 or 3 bucks per disk and you get that in a mdse credit cash under $10 I think. It's not worth it.

Thanks Steve, I will let them stay on eBay then I am asking $250 or Best offer + $15.00 S&H which I think is fair because it is a great lot of DVD's. No clunkers, all top notch big box office films.

I don't know what it's like in the States, but here in Canada, renting movies is stupid - at least from my perspective. Blockbuster accepts trade-ins for half the price they would sell it for, and every few months they pay a $5 minimum for any trade-in, even if they would only sell it for $5. We also have a chain of used DVD/CD stores called The Beat Goes On that pays decent money for trades, and 15 or 20% more in store credit. I buy a ton of previously viewed movies, which cost me anywhere from $6 to $12. I watch them, and if I like the movie, I keep it, and if I don't, I sell it back. Often the money you lose between buying and selling is less than the rental cost, plus you have the option of keeping the disc. If you rent, you have to pay the rental fee, and then, if you want to own it, you have to pay again. If the disc is recent, and has some decent market value, I've made pretty good money on amazon marketplace. From time to time, I've bought a previously viewed or used movie, and sold it on amazon for more than I paid. I've sold on ebay, but unless it's a rare title, or something that a lot of people are currently looking for, you rarely get as much as you could through another source.
