As I said, Toshiba has exited the player marketplace, but HVD DVD lives on...

OK, It ain't over until the last HD DVD supporter says it's over...
Odd that at least 2 of those last HD DVD supporters are LG and Samsung?????
If you build it, they will come.
If it generates continuing profits, they will stay.
Lets spend the next few years thinking about that concept..
As if we will ever see widespread adoption of BD-Live v. 2.x
I can't help but notice the advertising at the top banner here on DVDTOWN.
What was selling HD DVD players below $150 a few days ago, is now advertising the P$3 starting at $399.99.
Yeah, that is some end to a format war....
I own 3 HD DVD players for less than what I paid for my single PS3.
That really sounds like what the consumer as truly decided...

Too bad there will be no new software to play on these players.
LG can continue to make players, but whats the point?

Even if HD DVD players are still being made it, does us any good as HD DVD users if there are no new movies to watch on it...as far as the HD side of the house goes.

Let's not forget that Paramount is still standing their ground...it isn't over yet!

What about Universal, will they support both formats?

Not only Paramount, but lets not forget that WB and Blockbuster made official their ongoing suppport of HD-DVD. Which means we'll still get HD-DVD's from WB until May and maybe the "occasional" HD-DVD release by WB (perhaps Dark Knight and others?). If it works others might follow suit with blockbuster titles (Indiana Jones or Star Trek anyone?). We gotta remember that the only reason Star Trek S2 got cancelled was because Toshiba was producing the project. Perhaps Paramount might pick up the ball if they see ongoing support from WB and enough demand from consumers.
