(The key to Sony's success this time around was that its chief executive Howard Stringer,
a former head of the company's North America division, drew on his Hollywood contacts
to drum up support for Blu-ray)

(Forget about customer satisfaction or superiority of image quality.
The real issue in the war between Blu-ray and HD DVD was about royalties)

I couldn't find the article but it said that both Blu/hd together only had 1% of the dvd market, so good luck on that fight to win over dvd...
Sony only won because they were able to monopolize the whole market, once they got the majority
of the studios it was only time until the retailers fell into place. It was all about the money no one really cared about the consumer or letting them have a choice in the matter ?

That picture of Stringer brings to mind Emporer Palpatine from Star Wars. It looks like he's gloating about crushing the Rebellion
The poor guy looks like he is going into Cardiac Arrest, does anyone know the number to call 911???
