Do you think that titles like "King Kong (1976)", "Streets of fire" & "The Frighteners" that were on hd-dvd format will now be released on Blu-Ray? I would have bought an hd-dvd player just to see these titles in HD.

Of course they'll be out on Blu-ray.

Once a High-Definition master has been made, it can be used to create a hi-def disc in any format. Anything that is currently on HD DVD-only, can be re-released on blu-ray. It is only a matter of time, as to when the studios get around to having one of the "few" blu-ray pressing plants start re-releasing (previously) HD DVD-only titles in the other format!

For anyone who was waiting for one format to triumph over the other, there's no reason to wait for those exclusive HD DVD titles to be pressed in blu-ray format - it WILL happen! Personally, I think the studios should double their efforts on getting older movies on HD DVD. Most of the movies the past decade or two are junk (a few exceptions, of course).

I'd like to see (VERY SOON) in hi-def disc format: Lawrence of Arabia, The Ten Commandments, Ben-Hur, The Sound Of Music, The Man With No Name trilogy, The Bridge on the River Kwai, The Final Countdown, The Dirty Harry Collection, The James Bond movies, The Rocketeer, The Shadow, The Abyss, True Lies, Raiders of the Lost Ark (I could skip the other two), Jaws, Star Wars (I'd settle for JUST the original trilogy, but we all know we'll be forced to buy a boxed-set with those crappy-ass prequels in it), and last, but not least... "They Live" (that movie is just freakin' awesome - once Roddy Piper puts on those sunglasses)!

if the format survies at all, eventually many titles will be transferred over.
