FUNAI '$300' Blu-ray player by Q2

WOW, $300.

Just $150.01 short of where the general consumer might actually beginning to consider adopting Blu Ray.

That story was so "FUNAI", I laughed so hard that I puked all over my keyboard.

Let me double check my calender, I didn't think that it was April 1st yet..

What kind of products does Funai make, or best known for?

VC... $300 is MSRP, which means even lower on the internet etc. After several months, and going into the fall/winter sales season, the price will probably be $199 at some local retailers.

See, I told you that cheaper Blu-ray players would be forthcoming, especially by the end of 2008. Just remain patient, and see how well the player performs (check reviews), and any 'profile' issues, etc.

Hope to hear more about the Oppo's future players (and MSRP).

> FUNAI INFO (from Business.com) and link to other Funai articles, and the company's website. Remember, this Blu-ray player may have their name, but has Sony and Panasonic parts and design (a good thing).

Yey Funai! What Blu Ray player do you own currently, and also plan on getting in near future or recommend other than the Funai.

My Blu-ray player is Sony's Playstation 3 (purchased in June 2007), which I recommend for it's quality and flexibility. Long-term durability is not yet known, as like the Xbox 360, some PS3 owners have experienced some 'player failures' requiring repair or replacement.

Blu-ray player recommendations... wait until May and the summer for Profile 2.0 players to debut. Panasonic BD50 will arrive in May, probably for between $499 to $699 MSRP. And another msg bd members said that two new Sony 'Sapphire' players will debut in the summer, priced at MSRP $349 to $449. Of course, the price is not definite and is subject to change by street date.

So for now, PS3 is recommended. Otherwise wait for the players above, and even MORE players to be announced and released this year, now that the FORMAT WAR is over. (hooray - hehe).

After all... Blu-ray Player Sales Have Increased Significantly (info), recently.

I know it's off subject, but no one has put up the NPD numbers on HDM sales for last week. Has NPD released the numbers yet? Any info helpful, thanx in advance.

If you have a high-speed broadband connection, here's the LINK to the current issue of Home Media Magazine, and the 'numbers' are seen near the back of each issue. You can click the + symbol to increase the type-size for easier reading.

Don't get me wrong Hendrix, but do you get paid by Sony? Really...
