And since HD DVD, was created from the same people who supported and developed SD DVD, it is only logical that this site tilts towards HD DVD. All I can say, is try going to the Blu web site and talk the same garbage that the Blu supporters talk in here and see what happens to you.

I don't see a very good future for anyone supporting HD DVD right now, but who knows, maybe Toshiba or another HD DVD manufacturer might have an ace up their sleeve that we might see surface in the near future. There is no telling. As for me and many other consumers, I am glad that something finally happened and we can get everything HD in one format. There is nothing like going to a store and wanting to pick up either an HD DVD or Blu-Ray only to discover that it was only released in the opposite format. NOT COOL.
I don't think any HD DVD owners here has false illusions about it's future. Blu-ray won, and we have accepted that. However, HD DVD is not dead, and releases are still occuring, and owners have no reason not to buy the format, especially if they have a backup player and an already large collection. Furthermore, LG still plans to come out with a dual format player so the format will live on in both hardware and software releases (no doubt some small labels will continue to release in HD DVD).
So there is plenty to talk about regarding HD DVD: continuing releases, player/hardware issues, bargains, format war post mortem, etc. Obviously HD DVD talk here will fade away as does the format, while Blu-ray talk increases in like fashion. But it's better it happen naturally, with constructive discussion, and not the trolling that Bowfiend was here for. Good riddance.

As a matter of information, for the last week the editor has been conducting a running battle with the troll calling himself ScottBaio, banning him numerous times only to have him return under disguised ISPs, etc. In the process of banning ScottBaio, the editor deleted the threads that he started. We regret that the editor had to delete other, more sane and sensible posts along with the troll's posts.
Insofar as DVDTOWN.com or HDDVD.org favoring one format or the other, I think some people may confuse our readers' posts at the Message Board with the sites' official stance. We have always been format neutral and reported on all the news available about each technology. And as far as reviews go, we have reviewed more Blu-ray discs than HD DVDs.
But, yes, in the past month or two, we have had to ban more BD trolls than HD DVD trolls. That's just coincidence and life.

I seem to recall that bowfiend had purchased an HD-DVD player, right before the WB defection. If it weren't for the WB decision, you would still own an HD-DVD player. Think about those of us who bought into it before the new year. Does that make our opinion worth less? Simply we because we made the same decision as you, only about a month before?
No more 'crying' here. We lost. I'll do as many of the pro red guys here, and some dual supporters - I'll pick up a few HD-DVD movies while I still can. Mainly because I refuse to buy a PS3. I will eventually have to buy a BR player, but right now, it doesn't matter to me if a movie comes in a red case or blue, at the end of the day, it's still a high definition movie.

all things considered, its pretty sad you went from a fairly sane poster to some rabid Blu fan in about a month. I'm not trying to pick a fight, but that's not showing much intelligence. Perhaps you confused sanity with something that Baio fellow posted. THAT was a troll, an idiot, and a pox on this board. There are plenty of Blu fans here with good ideas, good posts, and intelligent input. Be part of that if you want. If you want to antagonize....good riddance.

I think I'll go back to my own dimension, where blu-ray doesn't exist and Sony makes the best HD DVD players! Of course... that VHS vs Beta war is still raging over there!!!

From what I've seen, most "normal" Blu-ray fans steer clear of this board as it is very HD DVD bias. I'm guessing that the Blu people you see here causing trouble are giving everyone here a little "payback" and enjoy watching the remaining red go nuts.
Both sides have idiots, and I'm guessing that if red had won you would have seen some red extremists on Blu-ray.com causing trouble.
I think you just need to not take this stuff so personally, and if you can, laugh at it all. Cause it really is funny ... and if you don't want to see it continue just don't respond to the posts. Indifference is the best insult!
And try to look at it as "we all won", cause really, a single format is what HD media needed to thrive.

We do not delete posts without reason and not because they are PRO Blu-ray.
What we delete ARE multiple posts about the same subject. The news many point links to have already been posted on this site under the NEWS tab. So please check this before posting. We DON'T need 10 posts about news we already posted on the site. Please remember this.
Lastly, DVDTOWN.com is FORMAT NEUTRAL. We bring news from both sides. We review both formats and have done so since they were launched. We have staff that only has Blu-ray, we have staff that have both. We have clearly stated on the HD page that we will focus more and more on Blu-ray as HD DVD releases will become less and less frequent.
Hope this clears up some of the confusion.

If you want a biased website you can go to The Digital Bits or DVDFile...
DVDTown has always been neutral...but again, if you can't see this, it might mean that you don't have a clear mind...
