It looks like they are all Paramount titles that are over 1 year old, still no fire sale on the discs from Universal or WB.

Is it something up with Paramount wanting to liquidate existing stock, or just another Amazon limited time unadvertised special???

A lot of those movies are cheaper on DeepDiscountDVD.

Well of course you are paying for the Amazon "experience" for the extra $2.

Never having dealt with Deep Discount before, at least if you get a bad disc, Amazon will replace it with another of the same title, no questions asked.

Not selling Amazon, I just feel a little more comfortable in dealing with them. YMMV

Never had a problem with Deep Discount, though I do have to pay for shipping to Canada.

If anyone is looking for some of the import titles at a good price, I just picked up Rambo, Terminator 2, and Basic Instinct at www.dvd.co.uk. The total was 26 pounds, which is about $50, but they also only charge 1 pound for shipping. Good deal for some titles that are hard to get here.

interplanetaryspy, have they ever charged you PST/GST upon delivery? They ship USPS right?

The only times I've ever been charged anything on delivery were when the total exceeded $20, then you start paying tax, duty, etc. I always do my best to keep my orders from outside Canada under $20 to avoid paying extra (or, at least have them marked as under $20). In this case, I put each title in separately, assuming they would then be sent out separately. If they aren't, I'll be very annoyed. Since these come from the UK, it's probably standard Royal Mail (I think that's what it's called over there). I was also told that I could end up paying PST on items from other provinces when they were delivered, but I ordered my HD projector from Quebec, and paid no PST (as they don't have any in that province).

interplanetaryspy, I've had movie orders delivered over $200 from Amazon.com and JR.com and they never charged me PST or GST... ever, so far. BTW, I got my Optoma HD80 projector from Quebec and they never charged me PST either... that was pretty sweet plus the price was great. Hmmm... wonder if we ordered from the same place?
