I know that the ps3 has built in wifi that can surf the net. Well I have netflix which has streaming vidoe on demand. Can that be used through the ps3? If so then I think a ps3 would be cool to play bluray and netflix streaming on my tv. any one know?

I heard rumors that it may be something possible in the future, but as of right now you cannot.

Sure you can, using the media server capabilities of your PS3. You'll need to install TVersity on your computer and add the streaming Netflix URLs to the "Internet Video List" Then on your PS3, you just select the URL in the Media Server menu representing the streaming video you want to play through your console.

I'm doing it with radio and TV station streaming feeds from all over the world. It's pretty cool.

Skyhawk, how are you streaming internet radio and TV channels on your PS3, and is it possible to do on a 360?

Yes, you do the same thing with your 360. In fact, there's a help forum dedicated to it here:

yeah ive heard rumors of the ps3 and xbox360 getting into the netflix download thing. Id use my 360 over the ps3, its takes way to long to download stuff from the ps3 network. toke me almost to 2 hrs to download and install a demo on the ps3! I download movies all the time from the 360 movie on demad service they already have, only takes like 10 min to download a 1.5 gig movie from there network. i think you get what u pay for, the 360 online service is so much better in my opinion, but sony really just got into the whole online service. microsoft is a generation ahead of them.

I don't know if it would actually work since I have to use Internet Explorer to watch Streamed videos... can't even do it on the all mighty FireFox :*(

Hmm... well if there isn't a codec/filter available for the proprietary stream, one might be out of luck. I haven't found a stream yet that didn't work with TVersity though... *fingers crossed*
