But I guess they got you by the short-hairs because HD-DVD fanboys are just "happy" any thing gets released on that format.
That's what you have to say on your first post?
So you know there are people here buying imports on both formats for $30+. You can't get every movie for $11.95...yet.
HD DVD's $11.95 on Amazon.com

When there are deals for either format it gets posted here so we can all take advantage. After all, it's about the movies right?

Amazon.ca blows.
You got that right....our dollar has been on par or greater than the US buck for at least the last five months...Amazon.ca must think we're stupid up here in Canada.
Chapters is just as bad.

They advertise it on the radio here, but they only advertise for DVD. On Universal movie commercials they don't say HD DVD until the end ("also available on HD DVD").

I pre-ordered ($27.95) BEOWULF on HD-DVD a few weeks, and just yesterday received the Amazon email indicating it's been shipped (along with my $15.95 Celine Deon Live in Vegas 2-disc Blu-ray concert etc), and today emailed them about the price difference (that Falcon stated). Tonight, I received an email saying they will give me the $6.00 credit I requested (price difference) - thanks Amazon!
(maybe, being regular customer helped too).
NOTE: a few days ago I received (from TigerDirect, thru Amazon's $169 sale) my new Toshiba A35 HD-DVD player, and it works great. Already has Firmware 1.3 installed. My only gripe is how 'flimsy' the disc drawer is - even my A1 legacy player is more stable than the A35 drawer (and both are plastic). Oh well, I'll just have to be gentle with it.
[have it set on 1080p/24 output for HD-DVDs, changing it to 1080p/60 upconversion for basic DVDs]

Hendrix, when you get a chance can you compare the upconverting on the A35 to the A1 and whatever other hidef players you have like the PS3? I've been hearing mixed reviews about the upconverting on the A35's so let us know. That way if I run into one for cheap I'll pick it up and forget about the XA2
Also let us know if you think the HD DVD's look better on the A35 than on the A1...ok I'm asking for a lot, sorry :p
Thanks in advance!
