Can someone recommend some good, inexpensive outdoor speakers? Also, and I'm sure this is a dumb question, but are any of those speakers that look like rocks or tree stubs etc. any good?

I believe BOSE has a few models made for the 'outdoor elements' (rain, wind, dirt etc), which are small, compact and durable. Sound quality should be OK too, although not the full dynamics of speakers with larger woofers etc. I remember seeing a Bose outdoor pair a few years ago in a Circuit City, for about $170 (pair).

EDIT: But I'm sure there are other brands to choose from too.

Sure, I don't know near as much about the PS3, it's network capabilities, etc as Skyhawk and Tony!

And Falcon, John Puccio, Tim Raynor, and others here know alot about tech, audio/video, and computers too.

Hey, I'm always trying to learn more myself!

Sorry, I wasn't trying to sound sarcastic if that's how I came off. I tried to pink the winking face in my post, but it won't show up for some reason.

I say go to a big music store (guitar center, if you have one) and pick up some big ass JBLs. You know, the kind for PA systems. Those f-ers were made to take a beating indoor or outdoor -- trust me, I'm experienced with playing in a band and JBLs are monsters that can handle anything!

Also, KLIPSCH Speakers have been popular for many years, and praised for their sound quality and durability. When I was in high school, our band director had a large pair mounted not far from the ceiling(!), and these could handle very loud (amplified) decibels!

Yea but you sure do know your TV's and how they work. I know jack about TVs, you and Skyhawk (on the projection end) have schooled me.

This is probably a stupid question, but is there any way to water proof regular speakers? I was thinking about getting some older floor speakers and using them, but I really do need (and want) something that can be kept outside all year.
