I'm watching it right now, this HD-DVD screams quality! Holy smokes. Paramount should be really disappointed with Blue-ray

Definitely my new reference disc. Here's a cool thread in AVSforum where someone compared the SD to the HD.

The picture quality would be pretty much the same on blu, the only difference would possibly be with interactive features. I'm not sure what the extra features are for beowulf on hd if there are any that use the web access, etc.

I watched the DVD version with my GF a few nights ago, and I must admit that it looked pretty good in standard definition. Even on a 106" screen. I hope this will be among Paramount's initial Blu-ray releases when they recommence their production within the format. This one is a definite purchase for me.

The textures really blew me away in some scenes... a few scenes looked very real too. Not to mention they did a great job making Crispin Glover look near human... erm... I mean...
