Do people who hang their televisions over a fireplace ever light fires in the fireplace? I'd be a little distracted by that, and a little nervous.

My Theater Room is small, but I was able to utilize my space and make the most of it. I did look at the theater chairs, but I went with a conventional loveseat and reclyner. I am actually looking at a sectional that will hug the wall and give me some more floor space. They also have storage capabilities under the corner sectional part of the sofa.
I have my Panasonic 42 Inch LCD rear projection, Yamaha 7.1 Receiver and JBL 7.1 Cinema Surround speakers. You know that I own my HD DVD player and I have DirecTV HD. I also have wall to wall movie posters and I have one wall dedicated to autograph photos and some mini posters. My walls are a egg shell color, but I would love to paint them a lil darker to cut down on glair. I have recess lighting with a dimmer switch for that movie starting effect.
As for storage, I have no room to display my movies on a shelf, so I have 3 CD cases (350 max) with my SD DVD's and one small 100 max case for my HD DVD's.
I like to call it a Theater Room that is budget savy, but looks good for the price. Alot BANG for the buck.

We have the exactly same type of chair.
I'd I'll be joining you two in the chair department when it arrives next Saturday! The 3 seater couch one is the same, except that the middle doesn't recline. I can just imagine friends of mine coming over and fighting for the ends... sheesh! I best get a matching ottoman to sit in front of the middle or all hell is going to break lose!

I've thought about it and thought about it and thought about some more.
(Boy, does my head hurt!) Ahem
anyway, what I've come up with
is that idealistically I'd love to go out tomorrow and purchase all of the
equipment for my dream HT room. But REALISTICALLY it prolly 'aint gonna
happen.
Therefore, I'm left staring straight at the ugly truth that MY HT will be bought
piece by piece probably weeks, maybe months (possibly years) separately.
Oh well, 300 will be playing on cable in about 10 minutes!
just enough time
to pop some popcorn!

That's the way most of us do it, including myself. The masses just can't go out and buy $20,000 worth of gear and furniture in one shot. We buy a receiver one year, upgrade our front speakers the next, the center the next, surrounds the next. 2008 is our furniture year!
It's like any other hobby, it never ends really. I know people into a woodworking hobby that spend way more than my wife would ever let me on HT!

As I said, I have the chair and the screen height set up the way I like it. I even had a new pair of glasses made for tv viewing only. They are the same rx as for my distance vision, but do not have the graded trifocals of my regular glasses. Therefore, I don't have to cock my neck at an ungodly angle to view the screen. It works great except now I can't read the buttons on the remote and I can't focus on what I'm slobbering all over me (popcorn, ice cream, etc.) when I'm watching a film.
My wife often walks away shaking her head. Hummm...I wonder why?
