2 for me personally. Possibly 6 to appease the kids in the future. But only if it's an Xbox 360 BD Drive.

3 ish for me. been buying HD when available and blu exclusives only before the war ended. will probably continue to do so until hd not available anymore since it's still my personal prefered format. can't help the fact that i prefer XA2 performance over PS3's. maybe someday when i can upgrade to a bad "a" blu player with profile 2.0 and bitstream everything then i might change that. but by then hd won't be around anymore.

Yeah this thread will appease me:"calling all HD DVD fanboys!"

I guess I'm #7 like Hendrix. I still buy standard DVDs for titles I know will not be in HD for many years (if ever). Heck, I still have my VHS connected in the bedroom because I have tapes not available on standard DVD yet!

I guess it's option 8 for me then. Never bought HD, stopped buying DVD a while back and only buy Blu-ray.

I select the option is to stop buying movies altogether: No HD DVD, NO SD DVD, No Blu-Ray. It is clear Sony's win of the HD format war will set back the average consumer adoption of an HiDef movies.

The average consumer doesn't give a shit about the amount of memory a disc can hold, nor do they give a damn about the special feature. They just want to watch the movie. I hope long term, this entire experience will catastrophic for Sony and their Studio partners.

I hope this ends like the failed attempt to convert everybody to quadraphonics.

Uh... what does 'it is clear' mean?

-Do the movie studios dare not put out a hi-def release unless they get permission from Sony?

-Do the stockholders of these companies stand to make no profit unless Sony lets them?

Was the HD-DVD format the 'magic formula' for HD financial success, but this is oblivious to the studios(?)... despite the fact that Blu-ray media is clearly capable of being more profitable, and better supported world wide?

Are you an HD-DVD 'only' fanboy? Oh, no need to answer - that's obvious!
