I've started renting movies pretty much exclusively through XBL. They're only $4 for SD($6 HD). Thats actually cheaper than blockbuster and I dont have to leave my house. I'm very excited about all the new content. I'm hoping that in the future Microsoft will include more functionality with XBL movies/tv shows and the Zune. I'd love to be able to transfer any TV shows or movies I purchased to my zune to watch when Im going on a trip or something.

All I know is that in Canada we're getting bent over big-time by Microsoft when it comes to xbox live.
1 new release HD movie download = $9.24....and we are at par with the US dollar.

So let's see....I can download the 720P 5.1 DD version of a movie from Microsoft for $9.24, and watch it once (twice at the most) in 24 hrs, or I could just buy the HD DVD/Blu disc for $30 and have it forever....with 1080P and advanced audio codecs. Microsoft must think we're stupid.

I downloaded Michael Clayton in HD from MS just to try it...but that will be the last time i use the service.

I agree with Bosshog7. I'm also in Canada and here you can rent the blue-ray disc at Blockbuster for $6.99cdn or even better at Rogers Video for $5.49cdn

I'm sure as hell not going to pay more money for less product (1080p and lossless audio with blue-ray vs 720p and compressed audio with xbox)

Scew MS, I'll go the the video store.

Ok, so xbox live gets a bad wrap in Canada... anybody else tried their movies? How does it work? Do you get a window of time to see it before it expires? As you can see, I don't do xbox 360.

I really like it...It's a movie rental service.

Once you download it you have 14 days to begin watching it. After you begin watching it you have 24 hours until it expires. Within that 24 hour period you can view it as many times as you want. It's a good price, and I dont have to go to blockbuster. Thats why I like it.
