I know absolutely nothing about audio systems, can some one help me out, or point me to a website where I can learn all this stuff? I've tried running a few different Google searches, but all I get are eBay auctions and other random web stores.

I agree. I've picked up quite a bit, but it'd be nice if there was a site that explained PCm and uncompressed audio and all that jerky stuff on 1 page.

actually yes. There are various pages covering aspects of audio technology, but it doesn't really break stuff down into what youneed to knwo TODAY in order to make informed decisions.

I'm looking mostly for a beginner's guide type of thing. I am 100% clueless on audio systems, with the exception of home theaters in a box sets. I'm so clueless that I don't how I would hook "regualr" speakers up to audio receivers or how to hook them to a video source things like that.

There are also some great websites out there with a lot of information for both beginners and seasoned veterans. You will not find, at least to my knowledge, a place that has it all on one page. There is simply too much information for that.

For good reviews and how-to's: http://www.audioholics.com/tweaks/connecting-your-system/

For consumer-driven content (forums): http://www.avsforum.com/
