I just spent $360 on a new lamp for my DLP 58" HP television. Ouch!! That's why these televisions look good to me. The LEDs are supposed to last 20,000 hours. Anyone have one so they can describe picture quality? Are they just as good in your opinion as the lamp versions?

You should have done what I did with my Toshiba DLP television...bought an extended 5 year warranty for $50 and it covers the $300 bulb

I bought a three year warranty at Sams Club but they don't include the lamp like most dont. You got a good deal.

A friend of mine has the 56" Samsung DLP LED model. Very good quality [nice LED implementation], but you have to sit directly head-on (and at eye-level) to see the best quality image, as sitting anywhere else is not near as good (apparent on most Rear-proj and LCD sets).

While this series offers native 1080p/60 resolution, it unfortunately lacks a special mode for the benefit of viewing 1080p/24 signals (from either Blu-ray or HD-DVD), and will convert any 1080p/24 signal to the set's native 1080p/60 resolution (and adding 3:2 pulldown compensation). Also, this Samsung LED series does NOT properly deinterlace 1080i film-based signals, so for the very best image quality it's highly recommended to send PROGRESSIVE signals whenever possible (480p/60, 720p/60, 1080p/60).

The price of these models is now lower than ever, making it a very good buy for those wanting to get a large-screen TV, without paying premium price.
