I don't know if it's old news or what, but Cinemax has both Gladiator and Braveheart in HD. I hope that this is a sign of things to come. I know that they have had Star Wars in HD for over a year now with no HD disk release but these movies are not controlled by Lucas. I really hope that they release these films soon. Man, Gladiator really looks good in HD.

I would love to see Gladiator in HD, actually Braveheart and Star Wars too

Tony are you Tivo'ing them? How/where do you save them? You can keep them on your hard drive or whatever storage media forever right?

Watched Braveheart in HD on one of the Canadian HD movie channels this past weekend...spetacular!!!

Makes me want to go to Paramount and punch someone for not releasing truly block-buster movies, like Braveheart, Indiana Jones and the Star Trek movies on HD DVD

Falcon, unfortunately I can't record it on my DVR with On Demand but...here's the good part....I can record them if it comes on the regular MaxHD channel which it does tomorrow night. So I have to sacrifice some of my ST:TNG episodes to make room, but it's worth it. I'm setting up the DVR now to record it tomorrow night.

I totally agree...I have never understood why you would wait to release these titles...stupid.

Didn't someone post here once those films are just the 480P SD DVD version upsclaed and some color tweaking done, and not true HD versions being played.

I don't know but my box goes directly into the my 1080p set and every HD On Demand movie it plays is in 1080i.

Yeah well that studio approach didn't help out HD DVD at all did it.
I still don't agree with the theory that if they release all the 'blockbusters' at once they are somehow losing something. I would buy a Lord of the Rings HD box set tomorrow if it came out...or I would buy it a year from now...either way I will buy it. Either way the studio makes money, so what do they gain from waiting?
