http://www.hddvdplayerownersunite.com/ was recently launched as a response to Toshiba's decision to drop HD DVD. The goal of the site is to get Toshiba to reconsider thier decision and to get support for HD DVD format.

I don't see how it could make any sence to Toshiba to change thier mind. At this point Blu-ray has 100% of studio suport, although for some it will be a while before they make any movies on the format. But this would be worse than an uphill battle more like an up a vertical incline battle.

It bothers me that the majority of the Layout is in Blue.

As much as I feel HD DVD should have been the format, this is pointless. The damage is done. The media has spread the word to the public that HD DVD is dead. Any average consumer is now completely convinced Blu-ray is the next gen DVD. A simple Google search of "HD DVD" will turn off any new people looking for info.

Do you like tilting at windmills? Seriously, sit back, take advantage of the big 50 and 60-percent HD DVD sales and start saving up for a blu-ray player.

I hope the studios get screwed by Sony and they learn their lesson. It's been a mess thus far with players not playing correctly etc. The right choice would have been for the studios to back both formats and let us choose.

Why do people always think that this is just a SONY backed format. There are other CE companies involved with Blu ray just as much as SONY. SONY does not conrol Warner, Disney, Lion's Gate, Fox, New Line, or any other studio other than the few that are under the SONY PICTURES ENTERTAINMENT umbrella, nor do they own Phillips, Panasonic, Pioneer, Sharp, Samsung, LG, Denon, Marantz or any other CE company that makes Blu ray players.

EDIT: What player from SONY has had troubles playing Blu ray disks?

I alos think this is pointless unless is about a health issue (and sometimes that doesn't matter either, look a tobacco companies, they are still going), companies don't really care what a minority thinks companies' main goal is to make money. Welcome to capitalism.

BTW, I tried to clink on the link and it gave me the thread again, so either you did the link wrong (which I doubt) or it got "magicaly" changed for you (if you know what I mean).

Also off topic, is it me or topics get erased from this forum? I was having a debate with another member in another thread and I checked it this morning and the thread is gone! It is not the first time I've seen thread magically dissappear. I think this is a violation of my constitutional rights! lol My first ammendment man! lol But seriouly now, what's up with that???

is there a reason people on the internet constantly misspell the words "sense" and "loser"?

Maybe some people should look over the site before giving judgement. Take into consideration the point it is trying to advance. We have forums here if you would like to post a comment. As for the color, it very difficult to get something that looks halfway decent and not gross people out with horrible colors.
