What sony needs to do is set one main standerd for all blu players with ethernet ports for future upgrades so people do not have to buy a new player every time a new profile comes out.

I have attempted to point out the original topic on many occasions but the Blu Camp simply tries to explain it all away as "holiday pricing." Whatever, the fact remains that Blu-Ray deals which were spendy before-hand are even worse now. Furthermore the number of BOGO sales, ect. which drove the format's numbers have all but disappeared. Or has anyone else noticed that?

just the normal way of things and no,i refuse to believe that the 100$ dollar hd-dvd players would sold that cheap...
Don't be idiots and anyway there is a future proof bluray player right now at 399$...

as it goes more mainstream the prices will fail anyway....
i remember 600$dvd players,so this all posting of "we told u so" is stupid because we know it,we are grown ups that have jobs and buzinesses and we are not 12....
Just cry on your hddvd addon on your pcbox....

That was kind of predictable (I actually predicted that would happen in a thread here after Warner's defection). There is no need for the BDA to subsidize these disks for the studios anymore obviously. At least Amazon still has 30% off on ALL Blu-ray disks to remain competitive with other retailers.
