Well I guess advertising isn't the right word, but I remember someone here making a post about HD DVD players possibly being sold as upconverting players with HD DVD playback as a bonus. Best buy is doing that.
Search for HD DVD players on their website. The description of the A35 is "Toshiba - Upconvert DVD Player with HD-DVD Playback".
Kinda interesting.

Nothing new there. In their weeked Boston flyer, BB advertised the Samsung dual player for $799 as a "Blue Ray and upconverting player." They mentioned that it would play HD DVDs in very small small print in the description below the price.
