That's actually a good idea. I'm sure you could cheaply refinish a lot of those high end old speakers and make them look presentable. I'm just not into the whole 'vintage' look when it comes to home furnishings!

Dedicated audiophiles don't use grille covers at all. Anything that might interfer with the sound emanating from the speakers is deadly to their super-sensitive ears.
