Please - no more posts of how you are NEVER going to go Blu and SD looks as good as High Def DVDs.

Just because you were on the LOSING SIDE of a FORMAT WAR, please just go off into the SD market and wonder why you bought a HDTV and wasted money on your HD-DVD player and movie. No matter how many times you tell yourself and others, you know that deep down in your heart that you are PISSED and know that you CAN tell the difference.

Have fun on the SD threads, live in denial, and move on.

Take care. BYE

With an attitude like his maybe he should be the one to take his ball and go home.

I own Blu-ray and to be honest i am not impressed. The picture quality is good, but features are incomplete, the format is incomplete, and I am sick of the blu-boys always rubbing their win in HD-DVD's face.

With assholes like some of the blu-camp they can take the format and shove it up their assess. Its probably posts like yours Jono being one of the reasons I still buy more HD-DVD then i do Blu. I have had my PS3 for 1 month and have 19 titles, My HD-DVD collection just hit 180 today.

To be honest my support for either format is trivial. I was in FYE on Sunday, had some store credit to blow and couldn't find a single Blu Disc to buy. I am sure had they still had their HD collection out I would have scooped up a title or 2 more, but the current line-up in Blu is not that impressive.

Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back doesn't scream must own, neither does dodgeball. If Blu wants to impress me they better start releasing some titles worth owning, as of right now out of 500+ Blu titles I own 19, I could only find 19 films I felt worthy of having. Yet on HD-DVD I continually find more titles worth owning. Maybe having Universal and Paramount was a good sign since they did release a majority of great films. The catalog Blu titles have been so-so, at least with HD-DVD you had some real classics along with some great new releases.

So Jono, maybe it is you who should quit bitching, take your ball and go home.

Djfunk... both formats have their 'stinkers' and quality films. You said -

Well, don't worry, many forthcoming Blu-ray titles will be bonified CLASSICS, as Warner has announced 2009 SpEd releases for Blu-ray -

BEN-HUR
THE MALTESE FALCON
GONE WITH THE WIND
THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD
THE WIZARD OF OZ
....etc

I'm hoping Warner releases one of my favorite classics, the original A STAR IS BORN (Judy Garland and James Mason), as I have the SpEd 5.1 surround Widescreen LaserDisc from the late 1990s, as this film should look amazing in HD!

Also, Sony/Columbia owns the rights to a few David Lean classics -

THE BRIDGE ON THE RIVER KWAI
LAWRENCE OF ARABIA

And then there's the back catalog of many MGM films (some controlled by Warner), such as -

DR. ZHIVAGO
the JAMES BOND series
...etc

So, Blu-ray is going to be releasing many great and popular films as the format grows in popularity. Warner just announced the DIRTY HARRY collection for June.

Well when I first found this site, it was hddvd.org... so I don't see why it's difficult to accept that a lot of people here would've naturally been hdddvd supporters.

Really, leave people to their own opinions. If Blu-ray had lost, we would've seen the EXACT same thing happening from their side. Actually, it would've been much worst as 'hardcore' gamers can be a lot more dramatic.

I don't bother posting here too often. I was pissed at first, but I've just decided to let it go. There are far more important things to worry about. When Blu-ray is actually affordable and not broken, then I'll rejoin the HD movie world. My TV cost me about $1100 and it's not worth it to me to pay half of that for a device that only plays movies. Enjoy your BR player and let the rest of the world join when they're ready to do so.
