So some dude has and out of favor DVD player and a $400 movie, and more money than sense. You gotta REALLY HATE SONY to buy a $400 HD-DVD.

Obviously a bad joke:
The seller ended this listing early to sell to the high bidder(s) at current bid price.
Yeah right... ended with 3 hours to go.

Reminds me of about 7-8 years ago... when both HOOSIERS and LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS (Steve Martin version) were released on DVD, and then cancelled/recalled (or something similar). For the next year, copies turned up on eBay with buyers paying HUNDREDS of dollars just to get a copy of these titles! Ridiculous waste of money.

What's really sad is the buyer falling for the scam. If you look at the bidding history you'll see to bidders with very similar names (h***y and h***i) wouldn't doubt they are "friends" of teh seller or even fake bidders in order to inflate the value of the movie.

on eBay after a item gets to a certain price, the identies of the bidders are hidden. So they use the first and last letters of the bidder and add **** to the middle of their name.

oic, but the identity of the winner is not "blotted out" so that's kind of dumb. They blot out all the other bidders but the winner? What's the point in that?

This avoids others contacting the other bidders and having them try to sell items outside eBay and avoiding paying fees.
