This kinda sucks that no hint of a Blu-ray release in the works was announced. I really enjoyed that movie too, as cheesy as it must look today by comparison technology-wise. But it's got that nostalgic value for me that will help it hold up regardless. Oh well... waiting... and not even renting the SD DVD version.

I'm tired of that movie. Have owned the Widescreen LaserDisc for a long time, and recently watched the movie in hi-def on cable. It's OK, but my favorite in this genre is DR. STRANGELOVE - I can watch this movie over and over again (brilliant!).

Skyhawk,
A very important release for me too.
I was interested in technology and computers early on. I was on the internet when most sites only had text access and the world wide web was still VERY young and immature.
So, that combined with that it was one of the first movies I remember watching on my mom and dads betamax over and over.
I guess I'll get the SD if no Blu-ray version gets announced. Have to check out those new extras and it looks to be priced reasonable.

I just checked the DVDTOWN link - wow, only $10.99 for this on Amazon. I'm also curious about checking out those extras (as Henning indicated). This will probably get reduced a few months after release, on one of those weekly sales at Best Buy and Circuit City, etc. So, even no Blu-ray for now, the cheaper SD-DVD is definitely a possibility (for the SpEd extras).
