Sorry, really not on planning to buy any Blu-ray titles...rent, sure, but not buy...

Although I have a combo player now, my allegiance is still to HD DVD product...I will buy HD DVD product, but not Blu-ray product...

Wow you have me beat. I have VHS Original Version Trilogy, VHS Sp. Ed Trilogy in Widescreen, Original Trilogy on DVD, and of course Episodes 1 , 2, and 3 singles as they were released. Of course when they get released on bluray I'll buy them also.

Yeah I've also bankrolled Lucas' large empire.

I'm glad to hear that. Trust me, I'm still buying as many HD-DVD's as I get my hands on. I probably exagerated a bit with all those movies but for 100% sure I'd still buy Star Wars, Star Trek, Tron, and LOTR.

Check out this order I have comin in a couple of weeks...

The Ant Bully, The Departed, Ocean's Trilogy, Planet Earth - The Complete BBC Series, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Appleseed Ex Machina, Happy Feet, Justice League - The New Frontier, Old School, I Am Legend, 2001 - A Space Odyssey, Beowulf (Director's Cut), Troy (Director's Cut), and Lucky Number Slevin. All HD DVD's of course for a grand total of $321.59 (including shipping).

I know it's a little overboard but the prices can't be beat right now for these hidef movies and by bundling them all into one order I saved on shipping too.

Did you notice that most of us want the Pixar movies???

Again, it's a matter of double dippin. If you have the movies on HD DVD it is highly unlikely you'll rebuy them on blu. But the ones that aren't out yet, all the mentioned above. The 007 series there is no doubt will be released shortly on blu...and I'm positive that with the release of Wall-e, Disney will release a couple more Pixar films on blu (let's hope...at least Wall-e on HD).

But come on, give me a break, Star Wars isn't the only franchise that likes to double dip! Or tell me which studios don't....

Of course SW isn't the only one. You guys keep mentioning another clear example of the "double-dip" trend, Disney: "get (movie title) for the first time on video..." (back in the VHS era), then: "get it for the first time on DVD", then: get it for the first time on 2-disk DVD special edition..." and now is going to be: "get it for the first time on Blu-ray..."

Is just sick!

r-u-serious,
just a question.... what allegiance is their towards a format that is already dead. I guess some people believe you are being brave and sincere, but in actuality, you are clinging to something that deserves to sympathy. ( a format?!?) It's not like a country, or a friend, or an ex-wife, or a compatriot, or anything like that. i feel like you are insulting the people who really are loyal.

i thnk the only vhs version of anything i own is the star wars christmas show.

but seriously guys get rid of your vhs please. It is time to say goodbye.

TheProf,

I haven't used my VHS player in years but a relative gave me some Thomas and Friends VHS tapes for my 1 yr old to watch in the bedroom. I took them not knowing if the VHS player even worked still. I tried it out and it works great. Now I have some other VHS tapes he watches on a 13" TV so it turned out to be cheap entertainment for my son

As you know VHS tapes go for super cheap now so I'm lovin the value I'm getting from it. To be honest they don't look bad at all either but like I said it's hooked up to a 13" TV.

Yea, but you have to admit that it makes a great Clock for your rack of other A/V equipment.
