While we all know I hate BR, I am the first to admit my BR collection is starting to grow... although a lot slower than my HD-DVD collection. Because of the Target BOGO this weekend I added 8 more discs to the BR collections which has me at 29 discs, however, my HD-DVD collections clearly towers my BR by 183 discs.
I will say that some of the newer flicks I have picked up in Blu have some great transfers. Shoot 'Em Up, and 30 Days of Night looked fantastic. My most recent HD-DVD purchase, Fletch, looked very soft, but still an improvement.
Recently someone on craigslist needed some money for car repairs so I picked up a practically brand new PS3 for $275 with soe movies, so now both my TV's enjoy purple HD output, and HD Fios.
While I miss HD-DVD, I will not abandon HD content. I will not buy SD-DVD's anymore, I just cannot justify it. I converted my Bee Movie money over to a pre-order for I am Legend on HD-DVD, and am just waiting for my Blu version to get here tomorrow.

Djfunkmaster, how is Fios working out for you? I have cable and I like it pretty well, but I really like to know is Fios that much better than cable?

Well, I used speakeasy.net to test speed and on the Wash DC server I get nearly 16mbps of Transfer Down and 2.2 mbps Up. On the seattle server I get 11900 Down and 2.0 Up.
However, the FIOS installer said most internet website servers can't transfer as fast as Fios can go, and I still get lag on some of my forum sites like Homepageofthedead.com. However, transferring files to other people... using Yahoo IM's file Transfer I can see a huge difference, as I can upload as fast as some of thier providers download rates.
I got rid of Comcast because they have been throttling customers, and were caught by the FCC. There was an article on dvorak.org about it. Comcast felt they had the right to throttle, however, the FCC felt they were performing false advertising by saying you can get up to 7mbps, yet on server speed tests I never got above 1.5 and I was paying $69 a month.
Fios is capable of speeds of 660mbps if the system is unlocked, and unlike cable, FIOS doesn't share a connection. Every FIOS user is guaranteed whatever speed package you purchase, whereas with cable, during peak times, I would slow down to as slow as 100kbps or slower.
Now their TV package is awesome, they don't have as many HD channels as comcast, but by June they will have another 150 HD channels, and all the premiums are in HD, so that is all that matters to me. I can see a clear difference ebtween my old HD cable and my HD FIOS.

I did a check before I stepped out for a few this morning on the FiOS site and it said that it is not available in my area yet, but they offered me the regular DSL package. I'll stick with cable until it's available. Thanks for the info DJ.

Any new extras on those BR discs? Or just the same old stuff that's on the SD DVD's?

lol, you too are great (Tim and kuko). I must be lucky then because I have gotten up to 4 MBPS (I know is not 7 but is not either 1.5) with my Comcast Cable almost at any time.

I can't get FiOS either here
...DSL is all I can get...
And for $42.99 for 5 mbps UP and 2 mbps DOWN is good, as long as we actually get those speeds...
