I called Best Buy Here in Canada and they said Canadian HD DVD owners will be given $50.00 off a Bluray player starting March 23rd (day may be wrong). Not quite a gift card but at least it's something.

According to this news article today:
http://www.cbc.ca/consumer/story/2008/03/19/blu-discounts.html
It says just as Future Shop lately reduced the price of all Blu-ray players by $50 (well a $50 gift card), Best Buy is also knocking off $50 on its entire line of Blu-ray players. This is for everyone.
In addition, they're offering people who bought HD DVD players after Jan 1, 2007 a $50 gift card if they show their receipt.
