What i think is most interesting about this article is the use of the name Live for blu ray.
Sometimes sony gets me really amped for what's to come. To me this is saying.
"This update does something HDDVD could never do. We are coming into our own. We destroyed HDDVD and now we are coming for you Microsoft."
The use of Live, is purely calculated. This is a direct challenge i feel.

oh that's right i'm the troll.
This is a big step in the right direction for Sony. And your "xbox is better" bs will not be tolerated.
If anything this is the direction that a lot of HDDVD fans, and possible BR adopters have been hoping for the format to follow. I think it's about time, and i welcome more and more updates to come. Otherwise I myself will have beef with Sony.
This is good news, stop trying to spoil it.
ya know what mike: i've been a member here for a month longer than you! neener neener neener.
god that felt good!

Hey... I'm not the one going "HAW HAH! YOU'RE WRONG AND NOW I'M GONNA SHOVE DIRT IN YOUR FACE!!! LAWLS HAHAHAHAHAHAHALAWSLROFLCOPTORZ!!!1111"
And I really don't see the connection between Xbox Live, and BR-Live... Ones an Online GAMING community... the other is a Disc Format feature... Uhmm.. okay!

And the resume play feature is nothing new at all... I've been able to do that... ever since I got my Xbox 360.
This is NOT true. The Xbox 360 does not currently include a replay feature for Blu-ray movies.
Sorry, I just had to throw that in!

lol mike, i'm sorry for making you feel bad. if yu want we can edit:delete our texts so nobody looks bad ok?
PS: mike if it is too far over your head to see that MS and SONY consoles are in direct competition, that MS funded HDDVD with a crapload of money to directly compete with BR, have competing software in the HD interactivity dept. that they are directly trying to push into BR profile, then of course there must be no connection to using "Live".
Trust me Sony has an amazing sense of humor, and a shit eating grin to support. When hundreds of thousands of people in the game industry asked for in-game XMB, sony made a big press release. and everybody in attendance received news of "XMB.... in......shirt!" and unveiled a shirt with xmb icons on it.
This is definitely a call out to MS. Like "you wanna push all your crap onto us, ok! BRLive!"
maybe I'm reading too much into this but honestly Sony just beat MS and Toshiba, and now adopted Toshiba's web interactivity and MS's affiliated brand name.
