SONY is releasing an update. Calling it "BRLive!".
it includes many updates an interactive features.
On the one hand you can read all the features in the OP article url.
secondly i think it's interesting that they decided on BR"Live", with xbox live being such a well known brand name, and currently one of the dominating features 360 has over the ps3.
that's it. discuss.

And I really don't see the connection between Xbox Live, and BR-Live... Ones an Online GAMING community... the other is a Disc Format feature... Uhmm.. okay!
Mike37... look at the title, there is nothing OBJECTIVE OR CONSTRUCTIVE about this thread. Clearly the title itself is A BASH on another format... not current events. This "dumb as a roof shingle" for a waste of space JUST PREFER TO INSTIGATE AGGRESSION.
It is a LECTURE on how an UPCOMING PATCH is supposedly better than a competing feature, ALREADY IN USE. The Troll is already judging a NOT-YET-TESTED-BY-CONSUMER update, against an ALREADY EXISTING competitive version, CURRENTLY USED BY MILLIONS OF MEMBERS...
Just look at the title! It doesn't want you to know about the latest news. This TROLL wants you to hear his FANBOY propaganda, then saturate the thread by CUT & PASTE articles on the net! Don't buy on this HOT AIR BALOON MIKE37 (or anyone else offended by the author's headline). He doesn't want to discuss anything.
DON'T FEED THE TROLL.

WAit... the Update itself is not called Blu-Ray Live... just the new web-enabled/Java content. At least that's how Jimmy explained it... I think. Skyhawk... some help!
Xplaytendo... I know... I just like messing with the trolls.

Umm... yeah, the feature itself provided by the update is called "BD-Live" which offers interactive internet content that's movie specific - much like HD DVD does (did) with the movies that supported it. It has nothing to do with XBox Live, which I pay every month for BTW (not for me, but for our 12 year old son).
I think theProf is just pointing out the similarity in names - the "Live" part, and wondering what if any implications there are because of it.

What do Blu-Ray Live and XBOX Live have to do with each other? I was under the impression that they are two completely different things. Why is it that everyone has to prove that their opinion is correct? Some people prefer the 360 and some prefer the PS3. Some people prefer BR and some prefer HD-DVD or SDVD. Deal with it.

Anyone who has Xbox live knows they have nothing in common. Sony is sooo far behind. They should have had this when the PS3 was released. Sony fanboys take a hike. I'm sure you are happy that your game system has an update, now get some games that are worth playing. Oh yeah, you PS3 owners can get vibrating controllers too now. Wow, thats funny, xbox 360 already had that too. Think before you cut on technology that has already been proven and embraced by the public (passing the 10 million member mark).

They didnt decide to call nothing, that has been the planned name for it ever since the first info for the profiles surface, profile 2.0 aka BD Live.
