Since AnyDvd HD has the potential for "backing-up"
Blu-Ray titles. I would like to know how many of you will still continue to
A: Buy Blu-Ray Titles as Normal
B: Rent and Rip Blu-Ray Only
C: Collect only certain Blu-Ray Titles, and Rip the Rest
D:HD DVD Supporter gone mad, and Rip all the Movies you Can.
Personally I can see myself as a B.

So, are you trying to get people to admit pirating? What are you, a cop?

Well, no, not really. I'm more concerned about what you're asking Reggie because, correct me if I'm wrong, ripping is copying the disc to another storage format, yes? If so, that would be pirating since you don't actually own it.
What I'm getting at is some people don't take the subject matter light and I've seen some pretty heated debate over the years about copying entertainment media. Some feel the issue alone is what drives the prices up, and that could be true considering companys will take measures to make up for losses.
All I'm saying is don't be surprised if someone comes in here and shakes a finger at you in shame for liking option "B". It's just that I've seen this topic before and can get pretty ugly if you're not careful.

On certain forums the mere mention of Slysoft (or any bruning/piracy related software) can get you banned in a heartbeat. Be thankful you're here. Also, if I were you, I wouldn't be such a strong advocate of such tools/methods. You never know who might be reading these forums. Just a little FYI.

Ripping a single copy of your legally purchased Disc's, for your own private use, should pose no problems, even though the MPAA would generally still disagree with the concept..
Any software product that allows you to archive your own legally purchased video library is a worthwhile bonus.
I can sincerely appreciate Henning providing a forum where people with a neutral, moderate, and even severely biased stance in a format war, can still duke it out with little interference by moderators, but I ask that no one ruin this unique experience with an advocacy of any type of Piracy.
That discussion doesn't belong here in this forum

Reggie,
Please don't get the impression I or others are attacking you in any way. I enjoy your comments on the forum and, if anything, I'm just watching your back like I would for any of my friends. I don't mean to come across as some father figure moderator, I just don't want you to get attacked over a topic that can be very sensitive to other people's morals.
Tim

But still 'backing up' your rented DVDs, HD DVDs and blu-rays is STEALING.
