First off to address the post:

I have ~ 400 movies in my collection, some pretty good classics..what ends up in my player all of the time..Sphere (Dustin Hoffman, Samuel L).

Now, Tim .. My PS3 came with 5 free movies. I can assure you that Ultraviolet was not one of the ones that I selected. It ended up on my doorstep anyways..That had to be 1 of the top 5 worst movies I've ever seen...How could it be so..

Superman IV: The Quest for Peace

But really, SIV wasn't such a bad movie, it's highly entertaining, but dated (you can argue all you want, but Superman III is a horrible superhero movie).

Oh, and all the Star Wars prequels...

One movie says it all............ ISHTAR!!!!

Seriously, I love the movie Trapped In Paradise. And beleive it or not, it is tough to find in stores. I love when Nicholas Cage has to walk across the street during the bank robbery, and find the bank presidnet. Dana Carvey is standing there holding a shotgun on a guy and when Nick Cage says what are you doing. And in that voice he says.... "I'm eatting Scrapple, it's got scalions" I piss myself.

Yeah, that's the way most everyone felt about it, but then we are talking about guilty pleasure movies here. I knew "Ultraviolet" was going to be cornball comicbook, but right from the start the movie is presented that way -- therefore I was easily able to put my brain aside and enjoy the cheese.

Here's what's strange, though, most films that come across as too corny, I usually can't stand. So why did I like "Ultraviolet" so much? I have no clue -- it just connected and worked for me on the popcorn level. Everyone has their guilty pleasure movies and what's interesting and fun is taking notice to how open and dynamic the field is with everyone's taste. It's odd how that all works out, as if there is something in chaos theory that might actually explain why we all connect to a certain film that the majority considers trash. Nevertheless, a fun topic to discuss, it is.
