HD-A2

I was at Wal-Mart and they had 2 HD-A2 players for $74 should I pick one up. I have an HD-A3 Player now and I only have a 720p plasma.

If it's brand new in a box i'd say hell yeah it is a great upconverter and if u plan on keeping your hds like I am you have yourself a backup. If only I knew where that walmart was at, I just opened credit with them when I picked up my A3 last month.

Hmm If you need another player I guess. Its pretty much exactly the same as the A3 right? The XA2 has the reon chip but its rare and expensive.

Actually the A2 is a superior machine to the A3...better workmanship and a more stable firmware release...just a tad bit slower on boot times than the A3...but, you can play the French release of "Enemy at the Gates" on it...a fine little machine

Yep, no problems so far with mine...

No problems with mine either, except having to take it all apart to remove a darn rental disk that had part of its hub label folded back exposing a sticky glue surface. It stuck to the spindle inside the drive and wouldn't eject after playing it. Ensure you check your rental disks folks before feeding them into your player (of any type)!

Thanks for the advice..... When I went back to the store I saw an HD DVD 360 add on for $37 since it would have been primarily for a back up I went ahead and got it. Hopefully my kids will let me use it if I ever need it. Now that I think about my A3 will probably outlast my 360.....

Muse, did the XBOX add-on have King Kong? At that price I'll pick it up...
