Yeah, HD DVD was region free. That may have been one of the factors that made WB/Fox go with Blu-Ray (Well, that and the $500 Million payoff from Sony!) But BD+ has already been cracked so that pretty much takes the wind out of that argument right there.

BD+ has nothing to do with "regions". A hack to your player will be necessary to play region locked disks outside of your own region. Of course this will come too eventually I'm sure.

I was just talking DRM in general. Region coding is a form of DRM. So my statement stands.

It will play all HD DVDs including titles released in the US and Europe. However, the drive will be locked to your XBOX 360 when it comes to SD DVD. So, if you have a region 2 XBOX 360 it will only play region 2 SD DVD movies in the HD DVD.
